R. Loring & Associates, Inc. (LORING) has been retained by
Mitchell-Giurgola Architects LLP to provide continuing Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection engineering services related to the multi-year, multi-phase renovation of Chandler Hall. Chandler Hall is home to Columbia University’s world-renowned Chemistry Department on the Morningside Campus and was built in 1928.
LORING provided master planning and design engineering services related to the modernization of the
utilities infrastructure for this 10-story, 90,000 square feet research facility. The first construction phase provided new utilities while maintaining research activities throughout the building and included a renovation of the uppermost research floor.
LORING is working on the design of the next two research
floors.
In addition, LORING provided the design for the following research spaces at Columbia University:
- Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Lab
- Organic and Inorganic Chemistry Research Laboratories
- Laser Research Facilities
