provided complete mechanical,
electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services for
this 900,000 sf Corporate Headquarters which included
conference rooms, kitchen, cafeteria, and a 25,000 sf raised
floor management information center. The project was designed
and constructed in two phases.
Phase I consisted of a 5 story, 650,000 sf headquarters office
building, which included a 20,000 sf Management Information
Center and a central utilities plant. Phase II provided the
addition of a 6-story, 280,000 sf building. LORING also
provided interior fit-up engineering services for both phases
of work.
In
providing the Phase II addition, electric power, chilled
water, heating water, emergency power, alarm and control
systems were extended from the utility systems designed in
Phase I. An additional 250 BOHP boiler and provisions to
connect a portable, truck-mounted 600 ton chiller, to be used
in the event of failure of one of the permanent chillers, were
added to the Phase I plant to serve the Phase II load. A new
LAN room was added in Phase II as a back-up facility to the
Phase I LAN room.
