Nolen Glasshouses for Living Collections

LORING provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services for the construction of new greenhouses to promote the propagation and production to support the diverse horticultural collections at the New York Botanical Garden in Bronx, New York. The project consists of eight completely independent zones, each provided with a sophisticated climate control system to simulate plants' natural environments, ranging from Tropical Forest, Desert, Alpine or Aquatic regions. The glasshouses utilize the state-of-the-art construction consisting of operable roofs, venting and shading systems to maximize system performance.
