LORING is responsible for complete mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services for a new 28,000 sf Ferry Terminal to be located at Pier 79 on Manhattan's west side.  The building, which will literally surround the ventilation towers for the Lincoln Tunnel and cantilever over the Hudson River, is being designed by Architect William Nicholas Bodouva + Associates to have large expanses of glass area to maximize waterfront views.  The project, being developed by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, will utilize positive air displacement through an air system that is integrated with the floor's tubular structural members, a means for natural ventilation, demand control ventilation (CO₂ monitoring) and day lighting control  as energy conservation features.
