New Jersey State House Capitol Complex
LORING provided the complete design of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems for a modernization, expansion and historical restoration program of the New Jersey State House Complex. The program involved the historic renovation and restoration of two buildings including the Legislative Building (housing Assembly and Senate Chambers and conference rooms) and State Office Building (Annex) (housing committee rooms and conference rooms). Also included was the construction of a new office building and modernization of the central utilities plant. The project also included the design of a 26.4kV switching station and a 5kV distribution system throughout the State House Capitol Complex. The renovated buildings were given modern mechanical and electrical systems within the context of a building on the National Historic Register. Total area of construction was approximately 300,000 sf, in addition to an 1,100 car parking structure.
