Barry L. Maltz

PE, LEED AP
Chairman Emeritus

Barry Maltz began his career at Loring over 50 years ago as a part-time summer draftsman and has held virtually every position in the company, stepping down as Chairman in 2016. Barry remains with the firm as Chairman Emeritus, manages the firm’s quality assurance program, and takes a key role in mentoring young engineers from the time they receive their degree, and often even before. Among his top objectives is maintaining Loring’s unique culture where every opportunity is open to every employee at every level, where Principals are truly hands-on and involved in the day-to-day details of every project, and where great people work on world-class projects for interesting clients.

Barry received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and a Master of Engineering Management from the Polytechnic Institute of New York (now NYU Tandon School of Engineering). He is licensed in NY and NJ. Barry has served on the Public Buildings Committee of the New York Building Congress. He was also active with ACEC New York as a member of its NYC SCA Industry Liaison Committee, and as a member and former Chair of the Metro Region Electrical Codes Committee. Traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, and home improvement occupy his time outside of work.
