Electrical Engineer- (NY HC-EE-02)

Role
Loring is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a proven interest in building design. In this role they will support our healthcare group, working in a collaborative team-based environment to assist with designs, while learning to understand client needs, under the mentorship of senior engineers. The ideal candidate will have between three to five years of experience in electrical design at an MEP firm.  
  • The salary range for this position will be between $87,500- $105,000. This is a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills, licensure, location and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. At Loring, we offer a competitive benefits package, and eligibility for discretionary incentives based on position, which are determined by company and individual performance.
Primary Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Assist engineers in preparing design documentation.
  • Prepare AutoCAD and Revit drawings of Electrical systems.
  • Assist engineers with design calculations and sizing building Electrical systems.
  • Perform system design calculations, load calculations, arc flash & fault current, lighting, and any other calculations required to support electrical design.
  • Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all building systems.
  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
  • Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
  • A baccalaureate degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited 4-year institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in designing electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • EIT or desire to obtain license.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong Analytical and quantitative skills, and a demonstrated capability for analysis and strategic thinking.
  • Strong initiative—the willingness and ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Ability to multi-task with multiple projects in order to meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both verbally and in writing.
