Joseph (Joe) Charity III opened Loring’s Durham, NC office in 2014, following a 10-year tenure in Loring’s New York City headquarters, ultimately leading the Corporate Interiors Group there. With a background in electrical engineering, Joe came to Loring straight from college for the opportunity to work on high-profile and complex projects in airports and commercial high-rise buildings, and quickly became a rising star with a deep commitment to client care.
When family obligations called Joe south to Raleigh, North Carolina, Loring’s desire to retain promising young professionals, as well as to expand their geographical footprint, led to the establishment of the Durham office with Joe at the helm. It was a bold move that paid off. Under Joe’s leadership, the office has developed a strong base of regional and national clients in corporate interiors, including the design of spaces in over 35 states for IWG, renovation of offices for IBM and KPMG, and growing the practice in commercial renovations and new construction in the higher education, K-12, and healthcare market sectors.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical (A&T) State University. He is a LEED Green Associate. Joe has a passion for mentoring younger staff and enjoys seeing them grow both internally and externally under his leadership. He takes pride in listening to the client’s requirements and developing a plan to ensure the client’s needs are met. Joe’s time away from work is dedicated to spending time with his young family.
