Development of a Clean Energy Master Plan (CEMP) for the SUNY Purchase College campus, comprising 49 buildings totaling approximately 2,559,697 square feet. The primary purpose of the CEMP was to conduct a deep energy retrofit analysis and develop a roadmap to transition the campus toward net-zero energy performance in accordance with the State University of New York (SUNY) Directive 1B-2. Directive 1B-2 establishes specific Energy Use Intensity (EUI) targets for existing buildings and defines requirements related to building electrification and carbon emissions reductions.
As part of the CEMP, Loring performed an ASHRAE Level II Energy Audit and identified potential Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) across multiple implementation packages, reflecting the diverse mix of academic, residential, performance, and support facilities across the campus. An optimized package was developed in consultation with SUNY and incorporated into the final Clean Energy Master Plan. In addition, a feasibility study was conducted to evaluate opportunities for Real-Time Energy Monitoring (RTEM) and electrical sub-metering across the campus.
