Avash Joshi began his career at Loring as an intern in 2012 while completing his Bachelor of Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he also earned a Master of Engineering. He joined the firm full-time in 2013 in Loring’s Commissioning and Energy Services Group, gaining extensive experience in commissioning, energy auditing, energy modeling, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations.

Following the establishment of Loring’s first international office in Toronto in 2016, Avash has played a key role in the firm’s growth in Canada. He leads the mechanical engineering team on high-profile projects, including the BAS replacement at Toronto City Hall and a new net-zero administration building for Durham Region Transit. He also leads Loring’s Canadian commissioning team, delivering laboratory and healthcare projects for the University of Toronto and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Avash’s engineering approach emphasizes practical, sustainability-driven solutions that support broader environmental and social goals. By integrating energy-conscious strategies into everyday design decisions, he helps clients improve building performance and reduce emissions. Recognized for both technical excellence and leadership, Avash was named Loring’s Mechanical Engineer of the Year in 2023. He is a Certified Energy Manager, Certified Building Commissioning Professional, and LEED Accredited Professional, and currently serves as Principal and Senior Vice President leading Loring’s Toronto office.
