Michael DesRochers launched his engineering career as a summer intern at Loring in 1982, rising through the ranks to ultimately take the helm as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 2016. As part of Loring’s long-term ownership transition plan, beginning in 2026 Mike will take on the role of Chairman Emeritus and will continue to contribute his years of experience in both technical engineering and managerial acumen towards advancing Loring’s strategic goals. A product and a proponent of Loring’s strong mentoring tradition, Mike maintains a highly visible and accessible presence to the firm’s next generation of leaders. His goal is to pay forward his love of the profession—the challenges and the fun—and instill a desire to continue the reputation of excellence that the Loring name represents for generations to come.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from Penn State University and a Master of Business Administration from Rutgers University. He served for 25 years as an adjunct professor at NYU’s School of Professional Studies. He is licensed in New York, New Jersey, and numerous additional states. He serves as an active member of several committees for ACEC New York, and on the Board of Directors and the immediate Past President of Design Professionals Risk Control Group, an organization committed to risk management in the AEC industry.
