Loring Announces Executive Promotions

Continuing in the Loring tradition of recognizing and rewarding its homegrown talent, Loring Consulting Engineers is pleased to announce four executive-level promotions from within the current management team. The announcement comes during the 60th anniversary year of the firm, which was founded in 1956.

Barry Maltz, who began his career in 1969 as a summer intern, assumed the role of President in 1988, and has served as Chairman since 2009, will become Chairman Emeritus. Michael DesRochers, who in 1982 also joined the firm as a summer intern and has served as President since 2009, will succeed Barry as Chairman/CEO. Barry and Mike are only the second and third executives, respectively, to hold the position of Chairman, following in the footsteps of founder Joseph R. Loring.

Steven Kenah, who joined Loring immediately out of college in 1993 and was named Executive Vice President in 2009, is stepping into the role of President. Oneil Gayle, Senior Vice President, who began his career as a summer intern at Loring in 2002, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Current Principals Chas Johnson, Vincent Farese, and J. Michael Galway will continue along with Barry, Mike, Steve, and Oneil in the overall management of the firm.

“With this transition, Loring is well positioned to continue as a leading consulting engineering firm for the next 60 years and beyond,” stated new Chairman/CEO Mike DesRochers. Incoming President Steve Kenah added, “We look forward to continuing our long history of designing state-of-the-art systems for world-class public and private buildings.”
