As a Principal, Todd Steffens is responsible for Commissioning and Energy Auditing services based out of Loring’s Washington, DC office. After beginning his career in the construction contracting field, Todd joined Loring in 2008 to help accelerate the start of Loring’s commissioning services division.
Todd’s background in field construction work informs his pragmatic and buildable approach to engineering. In commissioning projects, this approach helps deliver new construction, renovation, and retro-fit projects on time and in good working order to clients. He brings this practical approach to managing teams of engineers bringing commissioning services to Loring’s educational, municipal, federal, institutional, and private ownership clients.
Todd has had the opportunity to work on and manage commissioning and energy consulting projects such as the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Fannie Mae, the Michigan State Capitol, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In addition, Todd has extensive experience working with Universities, with past projects at the Catholic University of America, Virginia Tech, American University, the George Washington University, Columbia University and the State University of New York system.
Todd holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Virginia, North Carolina, and New York.
