Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer (PA-P-01)

Role
Loring is currently seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join our growing team in our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office.
Primary Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: 

  • Capability to design and document building systems, including but not limited to, lab gases, domestic water, and sprinkler systems.
  • Prepare plumbing and fire protection construction documents.
  • Review plumbing and fire protection documents for areas of conflict with all building systems.
  • Work with senior engineers to execute schematic design for construction documents through construction administration.
  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
  • A Baccalaureate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4-year institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in designing plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial/institutional building projects.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Previous Laboratory, Higher Education or Historical Renovation experience desirable.
  • Previous plumbing and fire protection design experience with an A/E and/or MEP engineering consulting firm.
  • Fundamental understanding of the International Building Codes and NFPA Standards.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Willingness and ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Ability to multi-task with multiple projects in order to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas verbally and in writing.
