Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer (PA-P-01)
Role
Loring is currently seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join our growing team in our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office.
Primary Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Capability to design and document building systems, including but not limited to, lab gases, domestic water, and sprinkler systems.
Prepare plumbing and fire protection construction documents.
Review plumbing and fire protection documents for areas of conflict with all building systems.
Work with senior engineers to execute schematic design for construction documents through construction administration.
Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
A Baccalaureate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4-year institution.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in designing plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial/institutional building projects.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
Previous Laboratory, Higher Education or Historical Renovation experience desirable.
Previous plumbing and fire protection design experience with an A/E and/or MEP engineering consulting firm.
Fundamental understanding of the International Building Codes and NFPA Standards.
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Willingness and ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Ability to multi-task with multiple projects in order to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas verbally and in writing.
